MOLASSES COOKIES 
2/3 c. hot coffee or hot water
4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Spices to taste (ginger and cinnamon, 1 1/2 to 2 tsp.)
5 1/2 c. flour
2 c. molasses
1 c. shortening

Let come to a boil and cool. Stir up and let stand overnight. In the morning, roll out to about 1/4-inch thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Bake at 350 degrees.
