1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
3/4 c. quick oatmeal
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. tomato juice
1 egg

Mix all together. Pack into loaf pan (I prefer 9 x 9 inch square pan) and cut into squares. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.

Make a sauce of 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/4 cup catsup, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1 teaspoon dry mustard. Put on loaf halfway through the baking time.
