1 package cake mix. Use any kind you like and bake according to directions. If you make a round layer cake, use 2 cake pans. If you want a square cake, use a 9x13 inch pan. When cake is cool, cut the round cakes in half to make 4 layers. Cut the 9x13 inch cake in half and then cut each half in half to make 4 layers.
Mix: 1 c. sugar 2 c. flaked coconut
Mix these 3 ingredients and let stand overnight. Whip 1 pint of cream and add to the coconut/sour cream mixture.
Frost the 4 layers and let stand covered for 3 days in the refrigerator. I usually use a white cake mix but yellow or chocolate are good. This is a good make ahead birthday cake. Very moist and delicious.
