2 1/2 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1/3 c. butter
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract

Sift dry ingredients in bowl. Set aside. Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Add milk and flour with extract. Bake at 350 degrees until done, about 20 minutes. Use your choice of icing.
