1 c. cooking oil
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten well
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk

Sift together flour, soda and spices. Mix oil, eggs and sugar then mix alternately with dry ingredients then mix all of the above with buttermilk. Bake at 300 degrees about 30 minutes or until brown.

SAUCE:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
2/3 c. buttermilk

Combine ingredients cook until boiling and pour over cake while hot. A very, very moist cake.
