CRANBERRY PAKE 
Line a 10-inch pie plate with your favorite pie crust. Into this put 2 cups cranberries, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cups chopped nuts.

Make batter: Cream 3/4 cup softened butter and 1 cup sugar. Add 2 beaten eggs and 1 cup flour. Pour batter over cranberries and bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Serve with hot butter sauce.

HOT BUTTER SAUCE:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. cream

Bring to boil and serve hot over pie.

This is a great recipe. I have made it for years, although I have never seen/made this butter sauce, we just eat it with ice cream. The tartness of the cranberries with the sugar cookie like top is amazing (pie & cake = pake). Use softened butter not melted, if the butter is too melted then the top layer may over flow in the oven. I always bake it with a pan on a lower rack just in case.
