OATMEAL BREAD 
2 c. boiling water
3 tbsp. powdered milk
1 egg
1 c. rolled oats (regular or quick)
2 tbsp. molasses (Grandma's)
1/4 c. honey (4 tbsp.)
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 pkg. dry yeast (2 oz. cake)
6 c. flour

Stir oats into boiling water. Let stand. Add powdered milk, molasses, salt and butter. In small bowl dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with 1 teaspoon sugar. To oatmeal mixture, add 1 egg, and 2 cups flour. Add yeast mixture when oat mixture is not too hot. Beat. Add 4 cups flour. Beat thoroughly. Put in larger greased bowl. Cover with cloth towel. Let rise to double. Punch down. Divide into 2 loaves and put in greased bread pans. Let rise again in pans. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven. Brush top of warm loaves with butter.
