1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
48 chocolate stars

Combine all ingredients except chocolate stars in a large mixing bowl. Mix until dough forms. Shape into small balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Top each cookie with a star immediately. Press firmly so cookie cracks around the edge.
