HOMEMADE BISCUIT MIXTURE 
8 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 c. baking powder
4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 to 2 tbsp. sugar, optional

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together into bowl. Add sugar; mix well. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Store in air-tight container in refrigerator until needed. Use for biscuits or muffins.
