HOMEMADE BISCUITS 
1 stick butter
4 c. flour (self-rising)
2/3 c. shortening
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. sugar
2 c. buttermilk

Mix all ingredients together. Roll out on flour and cut with round cutter or glass. Melt butter in pan. Pour 1/2 of butter in dish to be brushed on top of biscuits. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until done.
