1/2 lb. bacon, diced 1 box Rice-A-Roni Spanish rice mix 1 sm. can tomato paste 1 lb. ground beef 1 (14 1/2 oz.) canned tomatoes, chopped Parmesan cheese Brown bacon, remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of bacon fat from frying pan. Brown ground beef in bacon fat. Before completely browned, add rice-vermicelli from box of Spanish rice. Follow directions on box from Step 2 (using less water directions). Add tomato paste. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed. Add cooked bacon. Serve with hot rolls and Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on it. |
