2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Grease and flour cookie sheet pan. Sift dry ingredients, bring butter, shortening and water to boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Add eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix well. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING:

1 stick butter
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. coconut

Heat butter and milk. Pour over sugar; add vanilla, nuts and coconut. Spread on hot cakes.
