QUICK & EASY MOUSSE | |
1 (16 oz.) tub Cool Whip 1 (21 oz.) can Comstock Pie Filling & Topping 1 (8 oz.) tub dairy sour cream OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: fresh cherries (pitted) fresh blueberries fresh strawberries canned fruit that has been well drained Empty Cool Whip container into a bowl large enough to hold all the ingredients. Let set on counter until fully thawed. After Cool Whip has thawed (30 to 60 minutes), add the pie filling, dairy sour cream, and optional fresh fruit to the bowl. Stir just until all ingredients are combined. DO NOT OVER-MIX. It will set like mousse nearly immediately after stirring stops. Over-mixing will change consistency from mousse to pudding. Place in serving size bowls immediately or leave in mixing bowl and let set in refrigerator for 5 to 10 minutes for final set. Note: Refrigerated leftovers (covered) will keep several days. VARIATION: For a lighter version, fat-free Cool Whip and/or light dairy sour cream will work fine. Comstock brand cherry, strawberry and blueberry pie filling all work well. If using another pie filling brand, make sure it is pre-thickened. Submitted by: Chuck W. |
