FAMILY STEAK 
1 can consomme soup
1 onion, chopped
Salt and pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
4 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. flour
1 can beer
2" thick flat piece of beef (round, London broil)
Mushroom (optional)

Slice beef into two 1 inch flat pieces. Cut beef into individual servings. Brown beef in butter and remove from pan. Saute chopped onions in same pan; add sugar, flour and 1/2 can consomme and beer. Bring to boil. Add beef to mixture along with salt and pepper. Cover and cook slowly for 2 hours or until meat is tender. (For more gravy, use 1 can soup and 2 cans beer.)
