CHOCOLATE REFRESHERS 
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. cut-up dates
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. chocolate bits
2 beaten eggs
1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. milk
1 c. chopped nuts

Combine dates, sugar, water, and butter in a large saucepan. Cook over low heat. Stir constantly until dates are soft. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate bits. Beat eggs, add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice and milk. Stir in nuts. Pour into greased 15x10 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Frost with a glaze made by combining 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, 2 teaspoons grated orange rind and 2 to 3 tablespoons cream or orange juice.
