VANILLA ICE CREAM (FRENCH) 
4 3/4 c. milk
7 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tbsp. salt
2 1/2 c. cream, light or heavy
5 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, salt, and egg yolks; pour on milk. Cook until mixture coats spoon. Cool; strain. Add cream and vanilla and freeze in ice cream freezer.
