1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. drained sour cherries, save juice
1/2 c. chopped nut meats
1 egg, well beaten

Mix drained cherries with nut meats, add to remaining ingredients. Bake 45 minutes in an 8 inch square pan at 350 degrees. Serve with the following sauce:

SAUCE:

1 c. reserved cherry juice
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 tsp. salt

This was sometimes served with whipped cream or ice cream.
