ST. LOUIS GOOEY BUTTER CAKE 
BOTTOM LAYER:

1 yellow cake mix
1 stick melted butter
2 eggs

Blend with a fork and press into a 9x13 pan.

TOP LAYER:

1 c. sugar
1/3 c. vegetable shortening
3 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. dried milk powder
1 lg. egg
Pinch of salt
1/4 c. bread flour
1/4 c. cake flour
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
Confectioners sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl cream sugar, shortening, butter, milk powder, egg and salt. (A few drops of yellow food coloring may be added.) Add flours, vanilla, corn syrup and water until just incorporated. Pour on top of first layer and spread. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove and sprinkle with confectioners sugar to taste.
