ICE CREAM FROSTING 
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening (Crisco)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. hot water
1 box confectioners' sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk

Cream shortening and butter together. Add salt and vanilla, hot water and sugar. Beat alternating sugar and milk until frosting is thick, 8 to 10 minutes.
