BUSY DAY BEEF STEW 
2 lbs. stew meat, cut up
1 to 2 lb. can tomatoes
3 stalks celery, cut up
1 tbsp. salt
6 carrots, cut in chunks
1 lg. onion, cut up
1 tbsp. sugar
1/3 c. tapioca, uncooked
Generous pinch of thyme, rosemary, marjoram

Place uncooked meat in large casserole or roaster. Add remainder of ingredients. Cover pan. Bake slowly at 250 degrees for 5 to 6 hours. Stir at least once during cooking. Freezes well.
