AUTUMN SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
4 c. hot water
1 c. cut-up carrots
1 c. cut-up celery
1 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. barley
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 cube beef bouillon
1 bay leaf
6 whole tomatoes

Brown beef in heavy kettle. Add onions, cook 5 minutes. Add water, vegetables, barley, seasonings, and tomatoes. Bring to boil, cover, simmer 30 minutes. You may add any vegetables that you have on hand. 6 servings.
