ICE BOX PIE | |
Vanilla wafers 1 c. hot water 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. Pet milk, chilled and whipped 1/4 c. butter 1 pkg. Jello, any flavor 2 tbsp. lemon juice Crush about 1 1/2 cup vanilla wafers. Melt butter and mix well with crushed wafers. Press in the bottom of pie plate. Stand whole vanilla wafers around edge to make sides of crust. Dissolve gelatin in hot water, stir in sugar and lemon juice. Chill until slightly thickened. Fold in whipped pet milk. Turn into crumb mixture. Chill until firm. This is not the exact recipe my Grandma used, but it is close. It is the dish I remember most that she made when I was small. |
