2 c. white sugar 3/4 c. Pet milk 2/3 c. boiling water 1/3 c. white Karo syrup Bring above ingredients mixture to a boil in a very large saucepan. 2 c. pecans 1 tsp. hot water 1 tsp. vanilla Add 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, bring to boil again and add 2 cups pecans. Stir constantly, continuing to firm ball stage. Remove from heat and beat until it thickens and loses shiny gloss. Drop by spoonfuls onto wax paper. Add teaspoon hot water if it becomes too hard. May be frozen or kept in an airtight container. A teaspoon of vanilla may be added at end of cooking. |
