COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN 
Pieces of frying chicken, moistened
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Cooking oil or shortening

Shake the pieces in a bag with flour seasoned with the salt and pepper. Fry in deep skillet with hot oil or shortening, about 1 inch deep. The skillet should be medium hot. Turn the chicken over when it is golden brown. Reduce the heat and cook until well done and brown on both sides, about 45 minutes.
