SCOOTS' ORIGINAL BBQ SAUCE
I've been making variations of this for a few years, this is the first time I've noted the ingredients and measurements. It's great for grilling, dipping sauce, sandwiches, anything you can use BBQ sauce on!

SCOOTS' BARBECUE SAUCE:

1 (46 oz.) bottle ketchup (Hunts)
3 tbsp. hickory-flavored liquid smoke
5 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 cup molasses
1/2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 cup honey
a few drops of FRANK'S® Red Hot sauce
1 tbsp. Scotch (any brand will do!)
dash of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp. Ancho chili power
2 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. Chipotle chili power

Combine all liquid ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat, adding spices last, slowly, and mixing well.

Simmer over low heat for one hour, stirring occasionally.

Remove from heat and let cool slightly before mopping or chill in the refrigerator for dipping sauce. Enjoy!
