HUNGARIAN PASTRY SQUARES 
1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 pt. sour cream
4 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix dry ingredients. Add sour cream, egg yolks and vanilla. Mix well. Pat dough into a large jelly roll pan. Spread with filling. Mix egg whites (beaten), 1/2 cup sugar and 1 cup chopped nuts. Spread over filling. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.

FILLING:

2 cans crushed pineapple
1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cornstarch

Cook together until glazed and thickened.
