CHINESE CHEWS 
3/4 c. flour
1 c. chopped dates
1/8 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar (1/2 brown, 1/2 white)
2 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugars, egg and vanilla with butter. Fold in flour, dates and nuts. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes in 9 inch square pan. Cool, cut in squares. Makes 9-12 squares.
