BURNT CARAMEL PIE 
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. milk
1 stick butter
3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
3 egg yolks, save whites
Enough milk to mix well

Brown 1/2 cup sugar; scald 2 cups milk, add butter to the milk. Mix 3/4 cup sugar with flour, egg yolks, vanilla and enough milk to mix well. Pour mixture into boiling milk, pour in brown melted sugar, stirring and cook over low heat for 10 minutes or until thick. Pour into pie shell and top with meringue. Bake at 350 degrees.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
6 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Beat until stiff. Bake until lightly brown.
