BASIC SWEET DOUGH 
Crumble into bowl:

1 yeast cake dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water

Add:

1 c. milk, scalded and cooled to lukewarm
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
5 tbsp. powdered milk mixed into flour
1 3/4 tsp. salt
4 1/2 to 5 c. sifted flour

Mix half of flour into liquids, beat well, add remaining flour. Roll out on floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl and let rise until double in size. Roll into dinner rolls or into cinnamon rolls. Bake 10 minutes at 425 degrees. Cinnamon rolls at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
