KASHA BURGERS WITH KASHA SAUCE 
1 c. groats (buckwheat, or kasha)
1/4 c. scallions, sliced
4 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. whole wheat flour
2 tbsp. oil
Soy sauce

In saucepan boil water, add groats and salt and simmer 15 minutes; cool. In small fry pan heat oil and saute scallions until soft. Remove and cool. Season kasha with soy sauce to taste. Add flour and mix well. Add scallions and mix. When firm, make patties and bake on oiled cookie sheet at 300 degrees for 40 minutes. The last 5 minutes put cheese on burgers to melt. Serve with kasha sauce. Makes 6-8 burgers.
