ORANGE FRENCH BREAKFAST 
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
grated rind of 1 orange
1 1/2 c. cake flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. milk

In a large bowl, cream shortening, butter, sugar, eggs, and rind of orange. In a smaller bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Spoon into prepared pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
