BAKED FRENCH TOAST | |
In a 9 inch square baking pan, pour evenly: Sprinkle evenly over butter: Sprinkle evenly over brown sugar: In a medium bowl combine: 1 c. milk 1/8 tsp. vanilla extract In a small bowl combine: 1/2 tsp. cinnamon Use 9 slices of a dense white bread (such as Arnolds Country White). Cut 3 of the slices in half. Dip bread in egg mixture (both sides) using two whole slices and two halves per layer. Place first layer of dipped bread on top of pecan mixture. Sprinkle with 1/3 of cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat a layer of dipped bread, another 1/3 cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat with last layer of dipped bread and top with remaining cinnamon sugar. Pour any remaining egg mixture evenly over all. Bake at 350 degrees 45 minutes to 1 hour. Serve hot with maple syrup. |
