MISSISSIPPI MUD CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1 c. sugar 4 eggs 1 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 16 oz. can chocolate syrup 1 tsp. vanilla Cream (in electric mixer) butter and sugar for 7 minutes. Add 4 eggs. Beat well. Add flour, salt and baking powder alternately with chocolate syrup. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until it tests done. Pour topping over hot cake. Serve from pan. TOPPING: 1/2 stick butter, melted 2 tbsp. cocoa 2 tbsp. milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 box powdered sugar Cook until boiling the butter, cocoa, milk, salt and vanilla. Pour over sugar. Beat until smooth. Add milk or sugar if needed for right consistency to spread. |
