3 1/2 c. flour 2 c. whole wheat flour 1 c. rye flour 1 c. corn meal 2 c. chicken or meat stock 2 c. cracked wheat 1/2 c. powdered milk 4 tsp. salt 1 pkg. yeast 1 tbsp. milk (to be brushed on) Mix dry ingredients (except yeast). Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add dry mixture; mix well. Roll into 1/2 inch thickness on ungreased sheet. Cut into squares, brush with milk. Bake 45 minutes at 300 degrees; then turn off oven and leave in overnight to harden. Whole wheat and/or white flour may be substituted for grainier flour if you wish. |
