EGG CUSTARD | |
3 eggs 3 c. milk 3 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt and nutmeg Beat the eggs with a fork until yolk and whites are mixed but not foamy. Add sugar, salt and vanilla to eggs. Scald milk (a crinkly film means scalding temperature) stir thoroughly into custard mixture. Pour into ungreased custard cups and sprinkle with a little nutmeg. Set cups in baking pan with 1 inch hot water in bottom. Bake in 350 degree or moderate oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Test custard by inserting silver knife. When it comes out clean, custard is done. |
