3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 egg white
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
8 oz. (1 1/4 c.) chocolate chips

Beat butter and sugar, add egg, egg white and salt. Dissolve baking soda in water, add to butter, stir in vanilla. Stir in flour until just blended, fold in chips. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto non stick cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 2 dozen.
