PEANUT BUTTER APPLE BARS | |
3/4 c. whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. chunk-style peanut butter 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1/2 c. chunk-style applesauce 1 1/4 c. quick-cooking rolled oats 1/4 c. toasted wheat germ In a small mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and baking soda. In mixer bowl, beat the peanut butter and butter on medium speed of an electric mixer about 30 seconds. Add the sugar and vanilla; beat until well combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for 1 minute after each addition. Stir in the chunk-style applesauce. Add the flour mixture to beaten mixture, stirring until well blended. Stir in the quick-cooking rolled oats and the toasted wheat germ. Turn batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 25 minutes or until done. Cool completely in pan. Then cut into bars. |
