SPUDNUTS 
4 c. milk
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 pkg. yeast
1 c. warm potato water
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
4 well beaten eggs
1 tbsp. salt
12 c. flour

Makes 10 dozen. Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil and let cool. Dissolve yeast in potato water. Add potatoes. Mix together soda, baking powder, and vanilla. Add to the liquid and let rise until foamy, about 1/2 hour. Combine all ingredients and add eggs, salt, and flour. Let rise until double in size. Roll out, cut and let rise again. Fry as for doughnuts.

SPUDNUT GLAZE:

1 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 c. water
Vanilla
Butter

Boil water and add other ingredients.
