NEVER FAIL BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. plus 1 tbsp. Crisco
1 tbsp. vinegar plus milk to make 1 c.

Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; cut in shortening with pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk and vinegar all at once; stir just until dough follows fork around bowl. Roll 1/2 inch thick; cut with cutter. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
