PARTY CHIFFON CAKE 
2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
7 unbeaten egg yolks
3/4 c. cold water
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. egg whites

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Make a well; add oil, egg yolks, water, and vanilla. Beat until smooth. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff. Gradually pour the first mixture over the egg whites and blend with a spatula. Bake in a tube pan for 60 minutes in a 325 degree oven.
