RICE PILAF 
1 1/2 c. long grain rice
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can onion soup
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef or chicken consomme
Melted butter to cover rice

Melt butter. Stir the rice into it. Pour the soup into a 2-quart casserole. Add the rice. Cover and bake in a 325 degree oven for 55 minutes or until rice is tender and all the liquid is absorbed. Stir occasionally during baking.

VARIATION: Add finely chopped, sauteed celery, mushrooms and slivered almonds. May also add a cup of grated Cheddar cheese.
