CHICKEN, SOUTHERN FRIED 
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/4 tsp. ground oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tbsp. Accent
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 (2 1/2 lb.) chicken, cut into serving pieces

Mix all the ingredients together into a batter. (Similar to a pancake batter.) Cut a fryer chicken into serving pieces. Mix until the chicken is coated; drain well. Brown chicken in skillet in an inch of hot oil and remove to cookie sheets. Bake in 325 degree oven until crispy done, 30 minutes. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
