1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. water
1 egg
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. M & M plain chocolate candies

Blend Crisco and sugars. Beat in vanilla, water, and egg. Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to the sugar and egg mixture. Mix well. Stir in M & M's. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

For even more colorful cookies additional M & M's may be pressed into the cookies before placing in the oven.

Yield 3 dozen, 2 1/2 inch cookies.
