Layer as follows in 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.

1/2 head of lettuce, chopped fine
1/2 c. onion, chopped fine
1 c. early garden peas, drained
1 c. green pepper, chopped
1/2 head of lettuce, chopped fine

Mix 1 cup mayonnaise with 2 teaspoons of sugar. Spread over lettuce and seal. Refrigerate overnight (for beat flavor). Before serving, sprinkle 1 cup of grated cheese and bacon bits on top.
