WHEAT BREAD OR ROLLS
2 c. warm water
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/3 c. shortening
3 c. white flour
3 c. whole wheat flour
1 tbsp. cooking oil

Mix water, yeast, salt, and sugar together by hand. Let stand until all dry ingredients are completely dissolved in the water.

With an electric mixer, or by hand, mix in eggs, shortening, and white flour. Mix until smooth. By hand, mix in whole wheat flour.

Cover mixing bowl with a towel and put in a warm place. Let dough rise until doubled in size.

Pour cooking oil over dough in mixing bowl. Turn dough over in oil until dough is completely covered in oil. Cover mixing bowl with a towel and put in a warm place. Let dough rise again until doubled in size.

If you are not going to bake bread soon, refrigerate dough until you are ready to bake it. When you are ready to bake the bread, preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Shape dough into loaves or into balls for rolls. Place dough in greased and floured baking pans. Bake rolls for about 15 minutes or loaves about 30 minutes until golden brown on top.
