CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE 
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. boiling water
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar

Combine cocoa, shortening and soda in a large bowl and pour boiling water over it; stir until smooth. Add milk, vanilla and unbeaten eggs; mix well. Sift in salt, baking powder, flour and sugar; beat until smooth.

Pour into greased and floured 9x13 pan or 10-inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour. Test in center with toothpick. Let stand for 10 minutes before taking out of pan.
