UKRAINIAN BUTTERFLIES 
A rosette iron
1 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
Crisco oil

Beat flour, milk, eggs, sugar, and salt together until smooth with mixer. In electric frying pan, heat oil to 375 degrees; use enough oil to cover iron. Dip iron in hot oil, then into batter, and back into oil. When cookie is released from iron, continue frying until light golden brown. Drain well on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
