PEAR RELISH 
1 peck pears (1/4 bushel)
5 med. onions
6 green peppers, seeded
2 lbs. sugar
5 c. vinegar
1 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. mixed spices, tied in a bag
1 tbsp. turmeric

Peel pears and core. Grind pears, onions and peppers. Add sugar, vinegar, salt, mixed spices and turmeric. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes after mixture has come to a boil. Remove spice bag and pour relish into sterilized jars. Seal and store.
