POPPYSEED DRESSING FOR FRUIT
SALAD
 
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla flavor
1 tsp. butter flavor
Dash of salt

Blend flour into sugar. Add water, butter, egg and vinegar and cook until mixture thickens stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add flavorings and salt. Cool. If dressing if too thick add a little water. Add dressing to fruit just before serving. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
