FROZEN CUKES FOR SALADS 
2 qts. sliced cukes
2 med. onions, sliced
2 lbs. coarse salt to cover

Let stand at least 3 hours or overnight (doesn't need that much salt). Drain and rinse well. Mix 1 cup cider vinegar with 1 1/2 cups sugar. Stir well to dissolve. Place cucumbers and onions in freezer containers or ziplock bags. Add syrup and freeze.
